The Lovecraftian Thing a Day (2018) No.46: Ramsey Campbell in Conversation with Stephen Jones

As part of their Spring Term curriculum, the London branch of The Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies tonight presented a special masterclass involving two key figures in the UK horror scene: Ramsey Campbell - one of the greatest living British horror writers - in conversation with editor, writer and anthologist Stephen Jones. Also two of the nicest blokes in British horror.

Things Lovecraftian loomed large in the discussion, with lots of reminiscences surrounding the publication of Campbell’s first book The Inhabitant of the Lake and Less Welcome Tenants, alongside many fascinating and amusing anecdotes about a life in horror. I also had the opportunity to get my copy of Born to the Dark (the second in a trilogy of novels of Lovecraftian horror) signed by the author. It was also great to catch up with Steve Dempsey and Paul Mclean of, who were also in attendance. An excellent evening all-round.
