More Ministry brutalism dominating the Horsingdon landscape - this time overlooking the Grand Union Canal from a patch of waste ground formerly occupied by one of the Borough's rapidly disappearing freehouses. It is unclear as to the purpose or remit of this particular installation, although it is inaccessible to the public and surrounded by a barred iron fence. Notably, the building was constructed relatively recently; given that most if the Ministry outposts throughout Horsingdon date to the 1950s and are largely abandoned, one wonders what might account for this apparent renewed interest in the region...
