Lovecraftian Thing a Day No.349: The Fisherman

John Langan's The Fisherman has been receiving numerous accolades, and for good reason: although I've not yet completed reading it, Langan manages to artfully nest a subtle and sublime sense of cosmic horror within a quieter tale of grief and loss in a manner that makes for a compelling read. In brief, The Fisherman makes for a timely reminder that the default setting for cosmic horror need not be the Cthulhu Mythos. You can get your copy from Amazon, or order direct from Word Horde.
